Develop your skills with the PADI Advanced Open Water Course!

Want to go deeper? Then the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is for you! Now that you have learnt to dive and have seen some of the wondrous dive sites we have to offer, why not train for some more advanced diving? The Advanced Open Water course is a great way to polish up your dive skills and add some new ones! Advanced divers see more and can visit a wider variety of dive sites so get kitted up! In as little as two days you can get this license and see more dive sites!

What You Learn

This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving.

You complete five adventure dives introducing you to:

• Underwater Navigation
• Deeper water diving (typically anywhere from 18-30 metres/ 60-100 feet)
• A sampler of three more Adventure Dives of your choice

The 'AOW' course is primarily focused on diving safely in challenging environments as well as carrying out tasks successfully underwater. With the extra knowledge gained in these five training sessions the novice diver learns how it feels to dive safely to 30m and how to use an underwater compass.

 

The Fun Part: Your Choice

One reason you’ll love the Advanced Open Water Diver course is that you and your instructor choose from many types of Adventure Dives to complete your course.

There are five chapters of the AOW manual to study, Deep Diver and Underwater Navigator are mandatory. The remaining three core dives are up to you the student. In our local conditions we recommend a choice of any of the following:

• Drift Diver
• Wreck Diver
• Multi Level Diver
• Night Diver
• Peak Performance Buoyancy
• Enriched Air Diver
• Underwater Naturist

Your instructor will help you choose what interests you the most and inform you which order the dives will progress in. Prior to each dive, you will do a quick review of the information that you studied in the manual and review any points that are not clear. After this is complete you will be ready to commence your dive briefing and go diving. All the training materials, videos, quizzes and exams are available in many different languages to assist your learning experience.

Practical Lessons

The in water training is all done in the open ocean with some exercises to be completed at depth using your AOW training slate, a depth gauge, dive computers and an underwater compass!

Other equipment will also be used as necessary, your instructor will sort that out with you at the time of your dive. Each training dive will take approximately 45mins.

 

 

Course Completion

There is NO EXAM !!!!! Once you have completed all five core dives and their corresponding knowledge reviews from the AOW Manual THATS IT!!!!! You are now a fully qualified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver! You will now be able to enjoy diving at Night or diving to depths of 30m for up to 20mins using regular air tanks. The doorway to many more dives sites will finally be open to you because you will have qualified to apply for your Advanced Open Water License! Congratulations! Your Certification Card

We will help you fill out the Personal Identification Card to be sent to PADI along with a passport photograph. We will also issue you with a temporary card that is valid for 90 days. That should be plenty of time to receive your shiny new Advanced Open Water cert card from PADI.

If you wish, at the time of sending the PIC, you can also request a PADI Project Aware emblem on your card, by making a small donation to this organisation.
